Live Performance: Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre.

I went to the see a free showing of Romeo and Juliet at the Shakespeare Globe theatre and it was brilliant absolutely brilliant. It was a modern twist of the story similar to Bas Luhrmann's motion picture version obviously disappointedly without Dicaprio. unfortunately apart from one of the actors nearly skidding of the stage while riding around on bike because the stage was slippery  with snow as it had been  the hilarious thing was that it was snowing Th actors have to be commended though for relentlessly acting regardless of the snow. The theatre was roofless so it was outside yet inside authentically designed as it would have been during Shakespeare's day. The unorthodox parallel was  that Juliet was African-Black British which helped to make it more modern and interestingly cosmopolitan portraying an interracial  relationship between the young lovers. Overall the actors put on a good show there were carefully choreographed dance routines, especially  hilarious live action  battle scenes and of course the momentous tragedy of Romeo and Juliet committing suicide which was restored with comic relief as they immediately  and  miraculously  awoke from  the dead as the entire  cast bound around dancing on the stage in order to conclude the production in a truly engaging and fun way.
